Waco- Maria H. Maciel, age 99, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Connally / Compton Funeral Directors in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Roman Burgos officiating and burial to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Connally / Compton Funeral Directors.
Maria was born on February 21, 1912 to Hilario and Fernanda Hernandez in Pueblado Anaguas Tamp, Mexico. She was a life time resident of Waco and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and also a member of the Guadalupana’s and Franciscan. Maria Married Andres Maciel June 22, 1931, who preceded her death in 2003. She worked for Buchanan’s Laundry, Holiday Cleaner’s and Roy Beatty. Maria was a devoted mom and grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria always loved to cook for all her family and she always prayed for everyone.
Maria was preceded in death by her; son, Trinidad and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilario Hernandez.
She leaves behind her sons, Raymond Maciel and wife, Sally of Waco, Jesse Maciel and wife, Linda of Waco, Johnny Maciel and wife, Eva of Waco and Joe Maciel and wife, Dodie of Waco; daughters, Esperanza Salazar and husband, Jose Soto of Lubbock, Victoria Mata of Garland, Gloria Gonzales of Waco, Andrea Perez of Waco, and raised as a daughter, Irene Salazar and Husband, Julio of Waco; 34 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-great-grandchildren.
