Maria Elena Garcia

Maria Elena Garcia, 66, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benji officiating. Interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with rosary at 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at the funeral home.

Maria was born on June 1, 1956 to Manuel and Lusita (Veracruz) Sisneros in Waco, Texas. She was next to the youngest of four children. Maria graduated from La Vega High School. She attended cosmetology school. Maria worked for WISD in the dietary department for over 20 years. She had a great love for her family, especially her son and daughter. Maria enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her favorite pastime was watching movies and listening to all kinds of music, especially Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Adelita Garcia.

Survivors include her son, Gabriel Garcia and wife, Cassie of Hewitt; daughter, Vanessa Salinas and husband, Jesse of Waco; grandchildren: Isaiah, Ivan, Omar, Ayanna, Isaac, Danielle, Michelle, and Jayden; great-grandson, Elias; sisters, Gloria Martinez and Sylvia Garcia both of Waco; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers: Johnny Arispe, Manuel Arispe, Michael Arispe, Joe Victor Martinez, Ivan Garcia, Isaiah Garcia, Omar Garcia.
