Marceline "Margie" Thompson

Marceline “Margie” Thompson, 88, of Waco, formerly of Lorena, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with the Reverend Curtis Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 27th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thompson was born on October 28, 1928 in Fairfield, Texas to Isaac Fred and Ida Mae (McAdams) Horton. She married Rayford “Swede” Thompson on March 13, 1948 in Waco and they celebrated over 60 wonderful years together until his death on March 30, 2008. Mrs. Thompson was a caregiver, she loved to cook, sew, listen to music but her true love was her family. She was a former member of Family of Faith Church. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eldest daughter, Paula Jean Gilliam on July 5, 1983 and a brother, Curtis Horton.

Survivors include her children, Gail Swift and her husband, Butch; Ray Thompson and his wife, Geneva; Wanda Kellar and Lori Hargrove and her husband, Gary; brother, Hurschel Horton; grandchildren, Chrissy, Kimberly, Carrie, Michelle, Melissa, Angela, Michael, Shelley, Tyler and Wesley; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
