Joseph McCoy Holley “Mack” of Eddy passed away January 20, 2014 of prostate cancer.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be 6p to 8p, Friday, January 24, 2014 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.
Mack was born in Brenham, Texas June 20, 1945 to Joseph Elijah and Matilda (Neimeyer) Holley. Mack worked for H.E.B. for 16 years and owned his own convenience store for 10 years. He also worked for Jacks Market, Ben’s Short Stop, and Stoney’s Market until his retirement in October of 2012. He enjoyed horse racing, playing golf, going to Rudioso, NM to visit friends and gamble at the casinos. Mack was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Grizzle; Daughter, Charity Holley, great-granddaughter, Emily Collins and his cat and best friend, Socks.
Survivors include his wife of over 49 years, Eydie Cook Holley; daughters, Dana Napps and husband Kelvin, Shawn Griffin and husband Darren; grandchildren, Amanda Valdez, Dallas Napps and wife Melissa, Matthew Napps, and Zoë Griffin; great-granddaughter, Abby Collins. He is also survived by brother, Leon Holley; nephews, Kent Grizzle and Cory Holley; niece, Mindy Porras.
