Linda Joy Dodson, 74, of Robinson, Texas was called to her heavenly home on January 7, 2014. Services will be held Friday at 1p.m., January 10, at Victorious Life Church. Visitation will be Thursday, January 9th at Connally Compton Funeral Directors from 6p.m. to 8p.m..
Linda was born on January 7th, 1940 to Mary Muriel Honeycutt Hinze Simons and Paul William Elder Hinze in Groesbeck. Linda answered to many names-Mother, Mamaw, Grandma, Aunt Linda and friend. She lived a full life taking advantage of every day. Every moment with her was a learning experience. She always saw the positive side to everything and everyone. She leaves behind a legacy for being “the smartest person ever”.
Linda enjoyed traveling and reading. She loved being outdoors taking care of her garden and plants, as well as her children and grandchildren. She worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for 40 years. She retired in January, 2000.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, former husband George Marshall Dodson and brother, Ray Hinze of Jersey Village. She is survived by her children; Joy Luedke and husband Ron of Duluth, MN, Gay Dodson Yglecias of Robinson, Joseph Paul Dodson of Richardson, and Sheila Bohannon and husband Jimmy of Robinson, sister Paula Stallard and brothers Tommy and Charles Stanford, sister-in-law Linda Scott of Jersey Village. Ten grandchildren; Ronny Luedke and wife Danielle, Michael Luedke, Ashley Vrba and husband Aaron, Lauren Yglecias, Tiffany Fowler, Faren Wilhite and husband Brett, Trevor Yglecias, Tayler Clendenen, Gareth Dodson, and Linden Dodson. Four great-grandchildren, Grace Luedke, Gavin, Marshall, and Kelsey Vrba.
