Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benjie as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Funeral Home.
Juan was born on December 27, 1932, to Apolinar and Maria De Jesus (Perales) in Villa Juarez, S. L. P. Mexico. Juan married the love of his life, on February 23, 1957, in Chicago. They raised their four children in Chicago, Illinois until the year 1967, when they moved to Waco, Texas. They owned Banda & Sons (Neighborhood Grocery Store) on South 15th Street, for a while until they decided to close it down. Juan then worked as a machine operator with Dietz Memorial, in Waco, for 8 years.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sonia (Garcia) Banda on December 7, 2021, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Survivors include his daughter, Maria Olga (Banda) Hernandez, sons, Ruben Banda and wife, Rosa, Ricardo Banda, and Juan A. Banda and wife, Marylou, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren,
2 sisters, and one brother.
Pallbearers: Julian Banda, Felipe Pablo, Jr., Ruben Banda, Jr., Ricardo Banda, Jr., Jose Banda and Skyer Ramos. Honorary Pallbearers: Juan Banda, Jr., Roberto Magana, Jordan Banda, Michael Banda, Felipe Pablo and Ernesto DeLa Cruz, Elijah Banda, and Roman Rodriguez.
