Mr. Jose P. Lopez, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Waco, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 13 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12 at Connelly Compton Funeral Directors, with Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Jose was born to Ramon and Consuelo Lopez on April 13, 1925 in Evansville, Texas. He lived his life in Paulding, Ohio before moving to Waco, Texas. He was a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Paulding, serving as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Choir Member and Altar Ministry. He was devoted to serving the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He spent much time at the Paulding Senior Citizen Center, which he enjoyed very much.
He is survived by his daughters, Carmen Fisher and husband, Joe, Janette Degen and husband, Douglass, and Kim Shearn; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; siblings Vincent Lopez, Isidore Lopez, Robert Lopez, Janie Duron and Connie Carrizales.
