John Torres

A celebration of John’s life will be held 10 a.m., Friday, May 6, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a wake at 7p.m. at the funeral home.

John was born October 29, 1943 in Waco, Texas to Isabell and Teresa (Martinez) Torres. Woodworking was one of John’s loves but most of all was his enjoyment of cars. He was a member of the MiFamilia Car and Bike Club for several years. His most prized possession was his 1940 Ford that he restored himself. John was a very giving and helpful person, whenever someone was in need he was there. He was a long time member El Calvario Presbyterian Church. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father and his brother, Joe M. Torres.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Aurora “Dora” Torres; mother, Teresa M. Torres; sisters, Sara Garcia, Isabell Delgado, and Christine Gonzalez; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
