John Daniel Glass Sr.

John Daniel Glass Sr, “Danny/Dan”, age 71 of Temple, passed away on May 5th, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services will be held at Connolly/Compton Funeral Home in Waco on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, May 9th, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Dan was born June 22, 1950 in Norristown, Pennsylvania to Charles Sr. and Betty Glass. After graduating from Methacton High School in 1968, he went straight into the United States Navy as a boiler operator on the USS Intrepid while also serving in the Vietnam War. Dan continued pursuing his passion that he found from the US Navy as a boiler operator at Baylor University, A&M University and finished off his career at the medical center in Fort Hood, Texas.

Dan lived a life full of love and passion. He has always been known for his hard work ethic, loyalty and his genuine kind spirit. He had a sense of humor that will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Glass Sr. and Betty Glass, brothers, Charles Glass Jr. and Dennis Glass.

Dan is survived by his wife of 16 years, Martha Glass; brother and sister-in-law, David Sr. and Darlene Glass; sons, Shawn, Justin, Jordan and John “Jack” Jr. Glass; daughters, Autumn and Kensey Glass; his 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice of Temple for the amazing services provided to Dan and his family during this very difficult time.
