Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Joe was born in Mayfield, Texas on May 2, 1929 to Simon and Emelia (Vasquez) Vicinais. In 1950 Joe, met and married the love of his life, Angelita Villarreal. Together they had four beautiful children. He was a farmer for many years, working for George Sharp and Warren Farm. Later he worked for Jim Simons on a dairy farm. He retired from Robinson ISD as a custodian. Baseball and football was one of his favorite pastimes. You could always catch him watching the Texas Rangers and the Longhorns. Joe was very fond of Bevo, the mascot.
He was a great father and grandfather. He loved his family and was always there for them when they needed him. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parent; his wife of over 45 years; siblings, Dominga Vicinais, Jesse Vicinais, and Pete Vicinais.
Survivors include his children, Josefina Drewry, David Vicinais and wife Elona, Gloria Stump and husband Mike, Minerva Martinez; brother, Raymond Vicinais and wife Flora; sister-in-law, Martha Vicinais; Grandchildren, Dorothy Drewry, Michelle Manley, Jennifer Gonzales and husband Hector, Minerva Padilla, William Drewry IV, Olivia Salva, Joe Salva and wife Sara, Rosa Davis and husband Michael, Justine Salva, Patrick Warnick, and Andrea Davis and husband Rashad.
He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Adrianna Vicinais, Symone Schoenewolf, Angelita Schoenewolf, Oscar Arroyo II, Adrielle Arroyo, Morgan Schoenewolf, Isabella Salva, Sophia Davis, Mia Salva, Julia Elkins, Emma Davis, Devin Warnick, Dorian Davis, and Caleb Davis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and god children.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Arroyo II, William Drewry IV, Danny Lopez, Victor Lopez, Michael Davis, Ray Salazer, Stewart Simons, and Jorge Pena.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alejandro Sanchez, grandchildren, great grandchildren and god children.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Charles Stern and the staff at Scott and White, Dr. Andrew Day, Alicia and staff at HCF Clinic, and all of the staff of S & W hospice.
