Harold Edward “Ed” Peterson, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Waco. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 9, at 2 P.M. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Krupicka officiating and burial to follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Friday, March 9, 2012.
Ed was born on April 8, 1919 to Helmer L. and Gunda Johnson Peterson in Clifton, Texas.
He was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Ed graduated from Clifton High School in 1937. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1941-1945. He married Imadean Hall on March 29, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Waco.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Curtis Peterson; parents, Helmer L. and Gunda Amelia Peterson.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 year, Imadean Hall Peterson of Waco; daughter, Linda Peterson of Temple; grandsons, Tony Russel Peterson and Samuel Douglas Peterson both of Plano; brother, Pernell Peterson of Waco; nieces, Pat McElfish of Waco and Carol Blasche of Waco; nephew, Tom Peterson of Sugarland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Stilwell Retirement Center and Providence Hospice of Waco.
