Lupe Davila Lopez passed away Saturday, June 16th 2012 at her residence surrounded by family. Visitation will begin at 6 pm and the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm Tuesday, June 19 at Connally-Compton Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Wednesday, June 20 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Reverend Deacon Jessie Garza officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Lupe was born October 22, 1924. On April 24, 1948, she married Charlie Lopez. She was a homemaker and best known for her famous Rice. She had part in raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her son, Henry Lopez; and husband Charlie H. Lopez Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Freddie D. Lopez and wife Andrea of Speegleville, Charlie Lopez Jr. and wife Karen of Waxahachie, Richard Lopez and wife Lisa from Waco; daughters, Linda Lugo and Husband Johnny of Hempstead, Pauline Alonzo and husband Joe of Fredricksburg, Susie Cantu of Waco; brother, Domingo Davila; sisters, Tilda Davila, Pauline Rodriguez, Vickie Guardiola and Josephina Garcia; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her Canine Companion “Chico”.
Pallbearers will be Chris Lopez, Michael Alonzo, Joshua Lugo, Robert Cantu, Rudy Cantu, Ruben Cantu, Judah Padgett and Chad Lopez-Gulebian.
A special thank you to Providence Hospice and Caregiver Paula Hale and Mr. and Mrs. Carbajal from St. Francis Church for visiting and bringing communion to her every Sunday.
