Grady is survived by his loving wife, Janie Allen, his daughters Rhonda Ramsey and Karen Buck (and her husband Jared), his son Brian Allen (and his wife Kathy), his brother Dwight Gallagher, and his granddaughters Kara Stewart, Kayli Stewart, Krista Scarbrough, Shelby Ramsey, Jennifer Buck, Lauren Buck, Taylor Dryden, and Haley Dryden, along with eight great children.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Susie Belle and James Gallagher, and his father, Henry Grady Allen.
Grady attended University High School and later had a successful career. He dedicated 31 years to Alcoa Aluminum and served 9 years as a school bus driver for Midway ISD. Grady was passionate about his work and was highly respected by his colleagues.
Grady was an active member of the Johnson Drive Church of Christ in McGregor Tx, where he found solace and strength in his faith. He cherished his time spent in worship and fellowship at the Church.
Outside of work and church, Grady had a variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, listening to live music, race cars, the study of history, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to connect with his loved ones.
The caring staff at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors has been entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, October 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Funeral service will take place on Saturday morning at 10 a.m., at the funeral home.
Grady Darrell Allen will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
