Glenda B. (Jones) Daywitt

Glenda B. Daywitt (Memaw), daughter of the late Rev. N.J. and Sally Ellen Jones, was born July 26, 1936 in Katemcy, TX in Mason County. Glenda was united in marriage to Rev. Robert K. Daywitt on May 30, 1958 and they were blessed with three sons Danny, Stephen and Tim. Rev. Daywitt preceded her in death March 1, 2003.

Glenda was an accomplished singer and musician as well as an outstanding Sunday school teacher. She had many talents and gifts which she used to serve God in ministry with her Parents and later with her husband as a minister’s wife. She poured herself into her family and church with passion and love. She had boundless energy and it is impossible to know the amount of peanut brittle she has made through the years to help support church causes. Glenda spent 13 years working at HEB in the Bakery as a cake decorator and she taught a Defensive Driving class at several locations in Waco for 25 years. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, making floral arrangements and cake decorating. She was known for her wonderful pies, homemade dinner rolls and she inspired each of her boys to smoke the best barbeque brisket in Texas. She was lovingly known as Memaw to all of her grandchildren and created lots of loving memories with them.

Glenda passed from this life on Monday, November 6, 2018 at Greene Place Assisted Living Facility in Seward, NE. She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Jackson Daywitt, grandsons, Elijah Barr Daywitt and Zacharry Golter.
