Calvin Michael Ables, 36, died August 22, 2016. He was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Pleasanton, Texas. He graduated from Pleasanton High School where he excelled in football, track and was a member of the National Honor Society. He graduated from Texas Tech University, where he met his wife, Elizabeth Sivo Ables. They moved to Arlington, Texas, where he was employed in the professional recruitment field. He was a loving father of his young children and a loyal friend to countless others. He had a presence about him that was very unique and he left us with so many great memories. Calvin will never be forgotten.
Calvin is survived by his children, Hattie Mae Ables and Wyatt Michael Ables and their mother, Elizabeth Sivo Ables. He also leaves his mother, Rebecca Shelton, step-father, Richard Shelton, brother, Harold Matthew Ables, Jr. and his wife, Caroline, step-sister, Stephanie Sanchez, sister, Alicia Ables, step-brother, Eric Ables and step-mother, Lou Ables. He is also survived by his grandmother, Katharine Earnest, aunt and uncle, Thomas Southall and Kimberly, aunt and uncle, Culver M. Southall and wife, Deborah, uncle, Charles R. Ables, aunt, Sandy Shoopman and numerous cousins, among those, twins, Dr. Misty Vandever and Christy Ables, who he considered more like his sisters as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Harold M. Ables, his grandparents, H M and Betty Ables and Dr. C. M. Southall, and his step-brother, Erik Shelton.
Funeral arrangements will be at the chapel at Connally-Compton Funeral Home in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Service will be officiated by Curtis Holland.
Pallbearers will be Jason Garcia, J R Pacheco, Jason Vandever, Michael Brymer, John Carr, Matt Hunt, Chris Delzell, Monty Sullivan, Mitch Hagen, Harold Matthew Ables, Jr, Troy Lopez and Patrick Gonzales.
