Wilbur Steve Sharpe

PELION - Wilbur Steve Sharpe, 60, of Pelion, SC went to be with his Lord on March 16th, 2013. He was born to the late James Claude and Addie Rucker Sharpe on August 31st, 1952 in Columbia, SC.

Steve graduated from Irmo High School in 1970 and attended UNC-Charlotte and USC-Columbia. Steve served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy.

He was currently employed by Chalmers and Kubeck-South as Regional Manager. Steve was an elder at Calvary Springs Community Church of Lexington, SC and dedicated his life to leading others to Christ. He was an avid Gamecock fan; enjoyed hunting, playing music at his church, and most of all being with his family and friends. Steve’s greatest desire would be that people would come to know God. He was a father and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Steve is survived by his bride and best friend of 37 years, Brenda Mann Sharpe; daughters Jennifer (Cory) McEnulty, Lindsey (Gene) Campbell, Drew (Paul) Talbert; grandchildren Meredith McEnulty, Avery and Eva Campbell, Anderson Talbert; sister Pat (Rick) Pensa, brother Don (Tracy) Sharpe; nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Sharpe.

Funeral Services for Steve will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Calvary Springs Community Church, 6635 Platt Springs Road, Lexington, SC 29073, with interment to follow at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, SC. The family will welcome visitation on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel.
