GASTON – A memorial service for Thomas Klbecka, 82, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Chapel of Hope at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Illinois School for the Deaf, 125 Webster Ave., Jacksonville, IL 62650.
Mr. Klbecka was born July 3, 1935 in Chicago, IL and passed away Tuesday August 8, 2017. He was a son of the late, John Klbecka and Lillian Kunez Klbecka. He retired from International Harvesters in Illinois as a Field Mechanic. He worked for KMS as a Tool and Die Mechanic for 16 years in Springdale, SC. Mr. Klbecka was inducted into the Illinois School of the Deaf, Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Jane Klbecka of Gaston; sons, Gary Singleton (Kathy), John Singleton (Janet); daughters, Nancy and Joyce of Illinois; grandchildren, Shannon Singleton, Wil Singleton (Lauren), Thayle Singleton (Stephanie), Stacey Austin (Wanda), Paul Austin (Amber), Quentin Austin (Nicole), John Singleton, Jr., Hunter Singleton, Taylor Singleton; 13 great-grandchildren; and brothers Danny and John Klbecka of IL. and brother-in-law, Jim Singleton (Nancy). He is predeceased by a brother, Bob and sister Anna.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
