WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Ricky Oscar Wooten, 55, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Dunn’s Chapel with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Jesse Jeffcoat, Jimmy Sox, Keith Dooley, Roger Wooten, Larry Hubbard and Charlie Freeman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel.
Mr. Wooten was born May 24, 1957 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 after an extended illness. He was the son of Daisy Spires Wooten and the late Treas Carol Wooten. He was a lifelong resident of the West Columbia/South Congaree area. He was a graduate of Airport High School class of 1975. Mr. Wooten was the owner and operator of KanDu & Company since 1983. Ricky had a great love for his children, and all of his extended family. He knew how to enjoy life. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to duck hunt in Arkansas and flounder gig at Edisto.
Mr. Wooten is survived by his two beloved sons, Zachary Bishop and Treas Alford Wooten and their mother, Linda Alford Wooten; his mother, Daisy Wooten of West Columbia; sisters, Norma Wooten Urban, of West Columbia and Vickie Wooten Olin (Charlie) of Richmond, VA; brothers, Doug Wooten (Valree), Jeff Wooten (Vicki), Dana Wooten (Shellie), Marty Wooten (Sheri) all of West Columbia along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.
