Nelda Mildred Jackson, age 80, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. She was born on January 21, 1943 in Leesville, SC to the late Leon Hoyt Gunter and Catherine Hallman.
Nelda worked for Lexington County School District Two in food service for 22 years. She wrote a cook book and loved cooking and puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin; her daughter, Nadine Ronsinski (David); son, Frankie Jackson (Melanie); daughter, Rhonda Youngblood (John); son, Patrick Jackson; sister, Merlyn Lewis; grandchildren, Brad Youngblood, Katie Donaldson (Brandon), Marshall Jackson (Marissa), Lauren Donaldson (Blake), and Jackson Ronsinski; great grandchildren, Cameron Jackson, Paisley Donaldson, Landon Jackson, Gunner Donaldson, and Easton Donaldson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held for Nelda from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel located at 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, Lexington, SC 29170.
