Mildred Louise Moore, 70, of Pelion was born on April 4, 1951 in Central City, Kentucky. She went to Heaven to be with loved ones waiting for her on September 7, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Rod Roland Higgs and Gladys Marie Phelps.
She was predeceased by her husband, Everett W. Moore, Jr.; son, Billy E. Casey, Jr.; sister, June Crapps and brother, Michael Phillips. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Lyn Roof (Tony Williams); grandchildren, Eric E. Wohnig (Grace), Justin W. Wohnig, James W. Moore, Jr. (Kat), James “Bo” Ellisor (Rachel), Billy E. Moore, Christy L. Hopkins (Tommy) and Sandy L. Brazell (Lee); great grandchildren, Jesse Moore, Isadora Avila, Skyler Day, Jasmine Brazell and Summer Brazell; sisters, Ruby Vincent, Brenda Shirey and Barbara Burden; fur babies, Missy, Tiny and Lilly; and numerous family members and friends.
After growing up in Central City, KY and Chicago, IL, she moved to SC where she met Everett, the handsome man in the Cadillac. While raising their family in Pelion, she was a substitute teacher in their schools, a medical assistant for a while, and then pursued her dream of becoming a cosmetologist. In later years, she was an in-home caregiver for special needs adults, which she loved.
She absolutely loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and fur babies with all of her heart.
The family received family and friends at 10:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington. Funeral services will be graveside at Southland Memorial Gardens on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Bishop Rickie Jackson. Southland Memorial Gardens is located at 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia. Masks will be required at graveside if social distancing is not possible.
