Kenneth Lemuel “KL” Collins, 82, of Lexington, SC passed away on July 12, 2022 after arriving home that day from his most recent hospital stay with plans for his remaining time on earth to be spent with family. His passing so quickly was unexpected. His wife and daughters were by his side.
Born in Walhalla, SC to the late Lewis and Elvie Collins, he was one of fourteen children that were raised on the Collins farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He was a hard worker, honest and down-to-earth, a joy to be around by all who knew him. He was retired from State Auto Paint Company. He loved being outdoors and had a passion for gardening; he enjoyed sharing his harvest with family, friends, and neighbors. KL was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed beyond words.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia Taylor Collins; daughters, Donna Kersey (Tim), Dianne Clark (Jimmy); grandchildren, Jason Smith (Kristina), Jimmy Lee Clark, Chase Clark, Kristen Ward (Zach); great grandchildren, Leo Ward, Annabelle Ward; brothers, Ralph Collins, Olin Collins, and sister, Linda Lay.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel.
