Ian was an avid Gamecock football fan. He attended most home games since he was young. He attended a dozen or so season opening and closing bowl games, and away games at a few of the stadiums in the region. Along with his father, Ian was attempting to attend a Gamecock football game in every SEC stadium and was only two stadiums away from completion.
He is survived by his parents, Roy and René Pittman Williams; his sister, Casey (Joshua) Goldsberry, and brother, Sean Williams; his paternal grandfather, Jack Williams, and maternal grandmother, Agnes Pittman.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Dorey “Meema” Williams; his aunt, Pam Pittman; and maternal grandfather, Jerry “Poppy” Pittman.
A memorial service will be held for Ian at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. A visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lexington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8738 Auxiliary, 424 Cedarcrest Dr., Lexington, SC 29073, where Ian was a life member.
