Herman Hubert "James" Hickman

LEESVILLE – Funeral services for Herman Hubert “James” Hickman, 69, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, with entombment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. Pallbearers are, Paul Barfield, Ronnie Kubiscke, Milton Ginn, Jimmy Ginn, Kelly Eadie and John Westbrook. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hickman was born May 10, 1947 in Pensacola, FL, and passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was the son of the late Herman Hubert Hickman, Sr. and Evelyn Norris Hickman. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, AL, and served our country in the U.S. Army from October 1966 through October 1968. He was a retired Sales Manager from MSI Construction Company. James loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working in his yard.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra E. Hickman; children, Michael David Hickman (Dedra) of Lexington, Michele Renee Hickman (Ronnie) of Sandy Run, Mendell Brice Hickman (Lisa) of Lexington; step-son, Barry Paul Barfield of Batesburg; sister, Patricia Ann Houck of Gaston; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Jean Jordan and his step-son, Joseph Lee Barfield.

The family would like to thank SC Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Dee Nix, Debbie Sloan, June Scruggs, Shelia Molten, Chaplain Rick Boland and Dr. Greggory Konduros.
