WEST COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Clara A. Collier, 100 years young will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. She was born in Rogers, AR on May 28, 1915 to the late William M. Watkins and Edith E. Long Watkins and passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.Clara grew up in South East Kansas and after high school worked various jobs. She took night classes in chemistry and math. In 1935 she then married Tony Moon and moved to Los Angeles around 1942. She then went to work for Filtrol Corp as a Chemist. In 1957 she married Ivan Collier. She joined the Republic Women’s Club in Yorba Linda, CA and worked to elect Republicans from 1959-1992. Clara and her sister, Jane meet 5 Presidents and others during this time and had dinner at the White House. She enjoyed politics very much.Her sister Jane and brother Don passed away in 1997 and her husband Ivan passed away in 2007. Clara was a wonderful, sweet woman who always was willing to do anything for anybody. She will be dearly missed.
