Carolyn S. Campbell passed peacefully at her daughter’s home in Lexington, SC on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the age of 89. Born and raised in South Carolina, Ma, known to all of us, was the one who made us laugh and taught us about unconditional love.
She was a stay at home mom, whose full-time job was to make sure her kids had everything they needed. She loved being around children, cooking holiday meals, collecting all kinds of things, and she spent a lot of time shopping for new clothes. She also loved her trips to Harrah’s Casino and seeing how much she could win.
Ma loved her South Carolina football, watching TV, and her Saturday morning breakfasts at Lizard’s Thicket.
Beloved wife of Clyde T. Campbell (deceased); mother of Diane Bevel, Lois Gail Rivers and her husband Ben, and Alisha Gantt and her husband John. She is preceded in death by her son, Clyde “Tommy” Campbell, Jr. and son-in-law, Gary J. Bevel. Ma had 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who she loved so much and was so proud of.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 10 at 2:00 pm (with a visitation starting at 1:30 pm) in the mausoleum at Southland Memorial Gardens, located at 700 West Dunbar Road in West Columbia, SC. The service will be conducted by the Reverend Stephen McNeill (grandson). Pallbearers will be Bradley Hughes, Hunter Gantt, Owen Gantt, Randy Gantt, Chris Pitts, Bill Yandle, Devin Stogner, and Wesley Walters. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Prisma Home and Hospice Services for all the kindness and care during these last few months.
"Ma, we love you and thank you for loving us."
