Barbara Voncille Derrick, 69, was born January 1, 1952 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Trannie L. Sharpe Werdt.
Ms. Derrick was an active member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, where she attended the Women’s Bible Study and was a member of the Hope Circle. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and she loved her dog, Talia.
She is survived by her brother, John Deaver, Jr. of Columbia; significant other, David Collins of West Columbia; niece, Wendy Leonard (Russell) of Blythewood; nephew, John Deaver III of West Columbia; one great niece and three great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Paul L. Werdt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
