Arthur "Art" W. Manos, 67, of Gaston, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Born September 13, 1956 in Charleston, Art grew up along the coast of Georgia, a place he forever treasured. He was the son of the late Barbara Ruby Ricker Eubanks and the late Arthur Snelson.
Art was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Miriam “Pinks” Manos. Art is survived by his daughters, Michelle Bumgarner (Perry) and Kimberly Manos. He was affectionately known as Pa-Pa to the two joys of his life, his granddaughter, Kayla Sligh, and his grandson, Christian Sligh. Art is also survived by his siblings, Bobby Manos (Wendy), Rosie Scheerer (Kevin), and Mike Eubanks (Rhonda). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to those listed above, Art considered Jesse Hicks his bonus son. He leaves behind his beloved companions, Silas and Jack, the one-eyed cat.
Art graduated from Airport High School in 1974, and then spent the next 49 years working at Carolina Eastman as a crane operator. Even until his last day, he was talking about work. He was very dedicated, and trusted by many.
For many years, Art enjoyed playing softball and golf. He was a true competitor. He loved going to casinos all over the US, but mostly going to Cherokee with his brother-in-law. Most of all, he loved going to Clemson football games, near and far, all the way to California. If you weren’t first in the parking lot to tailgate, you were late.
Visitation with the family will be held at Caughman Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, Saturday, February 3 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. that will be directed by his uncle, Rev. Mike Ricker.
