Adam was a loving husband, father, and son.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; son, Matthew; father, Thomas; and brothers, Wayne and Mark. He is now reunited with his mom in heaven.
Adam grew up working with his parents at Shuman-Owens Supply and joined the Army National Guard the day after 9/11. He later found his true calling, helping people as a firefighter with the Lexington County Fire Service. He became a quadriplegic in 2014 and lived nine more amazing and adventurous years. He did not let his injury define him! Adam fought many battles, but always promised to see his son through graduation and becoming an adult at the age of 18 and despite many struggles and illnesses, he managed to do just that!
Adam had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation. Adam was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends, both in real life and online around the country and world that love him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones.
We will honor his memory with a Funeral Service on June 21, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Following the chapel service there will be a Graveside Service at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC.
