Vincent D. Estrada II, passed away Friday February 21, 2014 in Orange County CA surrounded by family and prayers. Vincent is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Gloria Estrada, Brother Michael Estrada, and Children Monday Estrada, Vincent Estrada III, and Kathleen Teal as well as 10 adored grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He moved to Visalia as a child, graduated high school and was married in Cutler Park. His father’s family owned Estrada’s Spanish Kitchen on Mooney Blvd in which he worked briefly. Vincent was in the Navy for a short time and eventually became a plumber for the union, like his father. He worked up and down the state of CA in various hospitals, prisons, schools and power plants. He will be remembered as a hard worker who stood up for what he believed in. He moved from Visalia in 1982 when he bought some land in the Tollhouse CA, here is where he spent the other half of his life on the property he loved surrounded by neighbors and friends in the small community east of Fresno, CA.
Vincent’s job in this world was to help people, make people laugh and love his family. He did all three wholeheartedly. In addition to that, Vincent was an avid SF Giants and 49ers fan and loved talking sports with his brother and children almost every day on the phone. He was a music lover; his favorites were the blues and soul. In fact, we know he is telling a joke to Otis Redding right now. He was, above all else, a humanitarian. He gave anything he had selflessly to anyone. He had many friends and will be deeply missed by everyone he knew. We were so lucky to have him in our lives; his memory will be cherished until we see him again.
The family wishes to invite you to a memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Vincent D. Estrada II at Miller Memorial Chapel , 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, California on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the house of his beloved brother and sister in law Michael and Laura Estrada.
