Paul was born in Oklahoma in 1935. He came to California as a child. His family settled in the Tulare area. Paul learned to work at an early age. He was the youngest son, and often worked with his older brothers to help his family. Paul liked to work with animals and worked often in agricultural settings.
Paul eventually had the opportunity to run a small dairy of his own. He enjoyed the cows and the milk but not the long hours! Ultimately, he had the opportunity to go to work for the City of Visalia. He was the Superintendent of Streets for many of his thirty year career with the city.
When Paul was nineteen, a cute little redhead caught his eye! At the time of his death, Paul and Kay had been married for sixty six years! Paul was the love of Kay’s life and she of his. Paul was blessed with two sons that have grown into amazing men. He was proud of his sons and talked about them often.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Kay, sons, Doug (Susan), Jim (Lisa), four grandchildren, Melissa Gayer (Graham), Matt Greer, Sarah Nelson (Dylan), Anna Greer. Along with grand-children Paul had four great- grandchildren, Grady Gayer, great- granddaughters, Taylor Gayer, Dylan Marin Nelson, Jaymes Nelson.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, March11th at 12:00 at Visalia Public Cemetery District 1300 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia, California.
