age of 83. He was born on August 13, 1939, to Epigmenio Saldana and Angelica Perez in La
Esparanza Cameron, TX. He was raised in a family of eight sisters and one brother.
At a young age, Oscar left school and began working as a field worker to help support his
family. After relocating to several different places for work, he finally settled in California. This is
where he met the love of his life, Emma Garcia in Visalia, CA and they married on January 15,
1968. Together, they raised three children in Woodlake, CA and were married for 55 years.
While living in Woodlake, Oscar worked several roles within citrus agriculture to provide for his
wife and children. Together, as a family, they loved to spend time outdoors or traveling to
amusement parks and the coast.
Everyone knew Oscar as a lifelong football fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He thoroughly enjoyed
western movies and WWE. When he was not rooting for his favorite team or watching his
favorite TV shows, he had fun winning big money and eating his favorite nachos at the casino.
He is survived by his wife Emma Saldana and three children, Martha Pack, Carlos Saldana and
Maggie Valdivia. He is survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Oscar will always be known as a hardworking, strong and selfless dad, husband, brother,
grandpa and friend. He will be missed but never forgotten.
“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means, I’ll miss you until we meet again.”
