Miguel “Mike” Carrasco, 59, of Exeter was called home by the Lord on May 28, 2016. He was born in Visalia on August 27, 1956. Mike married his wife Jeannie in 1976 and they raised two children. They loved going to concerts & 49er games together, taking family trips to the coast, and enjoying many barbecues at home. Widowed after 20 years of marriage, Mike continually worked hard and made taking care of his family his first priority. He worked for the City of Visalia for 38 years before recently retiring.
Mike was a man loved by many friends. If you needed help with anything, you could count on him to be there. He was always on the go, working on many “projects” and repairing “treasures” found at yard sales and flea markets. Always with a thoughtful heart, he loved to fix things for others, surprise people with little gifts & favors, and help out in any way he could. Mike had such a friendly and genuine spirit. He loved spending time with family and friends, quoting movies, trying foods of all kinds, and exploring new places.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife Jeannie, his father Manuel, and his brother Tony.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Paul) Reyna. Also survived by his son Michael (Vanessa) Carrasco Jr. He was the proud grandfather of Noah and Seriah Reyna. Mike also leaves behind his mother, Maria, his sisters, Connie and Amelia, his brother, Joe, numerous nieces, nephews and his mother-in-law, Virginia Saucedo. Mike has touched so many lives in his time here on Earth and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Burial will follow at Visalia District Cemetery.
