Martin David Reyes age 86, of Visalia, California passed away surrounded by family on May 25, 2024. He was born on November 12, 1937, in Lemoore, California. Martin was the beloved son of Ignacio Reyes and Maria del Refugio Torres-Reyes, both from Lemoore. Martin loved his family.
Martin’s (aka Marty) life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his work. He spent his life working as a farmer. You would often catch him riding in a tractor. He was a hardworking man.
In addition to his career, Marty proudly served his country in the Army.
Marty was a quiet man who rarely gave his opinion unless asked, but he was the best listener anyone could ask for, offering a kind ear to those he loved. He was gentle and good natured, always had a big smile on his face. His quiet kindness made him a beloved friend to all who knew him.
Martin is survived by his devoted wife Rita Nanez-Reyes, brother Pete Reyes, daughters, Madeline Reyes-Lopes, Martha Reyes-Briano, Margie Reyes- Galindo, Elena Garza, Christina Clark, and Jenni Saldate, 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents Ignacio Reyes, Maria del Refugio Torres-Reyes, son David Reyes, siblings Katie, Frances, Jovita, Mary Connie, Pilo, and Joe.
Marty was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed and always remembered for the lasting impression he made on all who were lucky enough to be loved by him.
A funeral service will be held on June 13th at Millers Memorial Chapel 1120 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia, California, visitation 2-3:30, service 3:30. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Marty’s life. A reception will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 420 Sequoia Dr. Exeter, Ca. 93277 immediately following the service.
