Martha was born September 6, 1928 to Grover and Lela Baumann in Tulare, CA. Martha graduated from Tulare Union High School. In 1946. Martha and her classmates dubbed themselves the "Slick Chicks of 46". Martha continued her education at the College of Sequoias graduating in 1948 ad earning her Associates Degree.
In 1950, Martha married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Charles Ruddy. There were married for 48 years before Bob's passing in 1998. They had three children, Melinda Kay, Kevin Michael and Timothy Scott.
Martha and Bob enjoyed spending time with their children and friends at their cabin in Shaver Lake. There were many happy days spent boating, taking long walks and enjoying good food, good friends and family. Another one of Martha's favorite things to do was for her and Bob to take their fifth wheel trailer over to Morro Bay. She so enjoyed taking long walks on the beach and fresh ocean air.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Lela; her stepfather James Linebarger and her beloved husband Bob.
Martha is survived by her daughter Melinda Hooper and husband Bob, her sons Kevin, Tim and his wife Carol, four grandchildren David, Christina, Michelle and Andrew and four great grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Mason and Cadence.
Martha was loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all.
Her family would like to thank Kaweah Delta Hospice Care, Leslie, James and Stephen for the excellent and compassionate care that was given to our mother. The caregivers from Visiting Angels, Angelica, Belinda, Gina, Melissa, Rosie and Rosalie, you all are truly Angels. A special thank you to Danine for your love and care of our mother.
Graveside services will be held at Visalia Public Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 12 Noon.
