I have just learned of Margaret's passing from one of our California people.  I am going to miss our lengthy conversations once or twice a year and our funny e-mails.  My sincere sympathy to all of you.  May all your wonderful and happy memories of her comfort you . She was a fabulous person!

Margaret has been a slightly "older" sister to me since I was in high school.  I knew about her before she met me because she was a well recognized Southern Baptist pianist and college student.  Her funny stories and musical abilities drew me to her until I got to meet her when she was the roommate of my Sunday School teacher, Glenna. When she started teaching in Corcoran, I had friends who kept me updated on her comings and goings.  She married Ken and I lost track of her until I started teaching 5th grade in the same district as she taught 5th grade about 18 years later.  By then, she was a preacher's wife with 2 daughters.  I spent time with she and her family and grew to love each of them.  When I got married, she stepped in as a "mother figure" to help me pick out my wedding dress.  Ken and Margaret knew my husband Bill before I did and we have reached out to them often both in difficult times and the happy ones.  I know that Margaret is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior but it makes me sad to think I won't hear about her travels all over the world.   I will miss the laughter that we shared in the stories that she told.  I will miss her honesty and support.  She was truly a gift from God in my life.  May God strengthen you in this time of loss, Ken, Marissa, Kristen, Egan, and Brent.

I got to know "Mom" Crabtree through my friendship with Marisa and Kristen.
Mom was such a generous loving and funny person, always made me feel like one of the family. 
She shared great stories of her travels and her daughters.
I got to go on a family vacation with the Crabtrees and be a special part of Kristen & Egan's wedding.
My heart is broken for her family and for sweet Ken, who is the most gentle soul I have ever met.
May she rest in peace and be free from pain.
She will be dearly missed.

Margaret and I shared a music ministry at Fellowship Church in Reedley for several years her on the piano me choir directing. After every weekly rehearsal she led our choir in prayer and upon hearing her homecoming I could only see the souls we worshipped with waiting for her with arms outstretched. Her smile faith and strong can do presence will be missed. She’ll be forever leading music praise and prayers in heaven I’m sure.

Mrs. Crabtree was often found behind her piano in our 5th grade class while we all belted out the favorited, “ I’m gonna go eat worms”. By doing such, she gave me my fondest memory of my education by far. Looking back at all my educators; Mrs. Crabtree didn’t just teach, she embedded. She embedded her soul into each and every class she taught. She literally gave us her all each and every day. Why?Because she knew the world depended on it. We didn’t lose one of the good ones, we lost one of the greatest.

Margaret was such a joyous person - that is how I will always remember her.  I didn't know her well, and we spent only a few hours together in total, but the memory of her that I will always carry with me involves laughter. I remember being with her while visiting Brent and Annette, maybe 15 years ago. I don't recall what we were doing -- playing a game? just sitting around visiting? eating? I do remember what it sounded like - Brent and Margaret bantering and teasing each other, Annette laughing. In the future, when I think of Margaret, I will always hear the laughter and joy that she brought with her.

Marisa and Kristen, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I will always remember Margaret as one of the most supportive adults I knew during high school. I always felt loved and affirmed in her home. I remember how she’d selflessly carpool us to 6:00 am basketball practices—never complaining about what a ridiculous burden that was on a parent. She made a mark in my life and I’ll never forget her.

I will always remember how brave you were to take 4 girls prom dress shopping. I appreciated the prayers for my health.  The understanding through Janelles wedding.  But I most enjoyed the conversations and laughter over Bunko.  You will be missed.  Sherie Desrosiers
