Dear oliphant family, I send my condolences to you in the passing of Mr. Oliphant. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. My Aunt Betty Strain, Oakhurst, sent me an email that she was attending his memorial service. I remember both Mr. And Mrs. fondly as I was born in Visalia and was baptized at The Fist Baptist church on Sowell, when I was about 7 years of age. That would have been around 1952. I always remember Mr Oliphant as a man of integrity and kindness, and a man with a big welcoming smile!

Aunt Deanie, Susie, Brent, Katie, Jim and Michael -  My heart grieves for the loss of a very special man - your husband and father and my uncle. I always admired Uncle Kenny for his many interests and hobbies and for his willingness to share and teach his interests to his children.  Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  Love to you all.

In the fall of 1992 I met Ken Oliphant - a man of character, and tradition.  A family man but most of all a Christian man.  
As a former staff member at First Baptist (now Gateway) our community benefits from the vision of the Oliphants and others like them because they had the vision to relocate from downtown to the current location on Sowell and Tulare.  Because of Ken and Laudine, there are generations of people around the world who have been influenced and are now believers in Jesus Christ due to the sacrifice of time, talent and financial resources they have made.  God bless you brother.

Ken was a great guy. I really enjoyed working with him on several USDA financed projects. He was insightful, smart and gave good advise. He was real proud of his family and was always talking about them. I'm out of town for the funeral but wanted to share a few thoughts. I really liked him.
