John Partridge of Hanford, California was born on September 16, 1933 in Panama, Panama Canal Zone to John Albert Partridge and Aura Maria Gutierrez. He passed away on November 25, 2014 due to complications from illness. John attended elementary and high schools in Balboa, Panama. John entered the US Navy in 1953. John met his wife of 53 years while in Panama City, Panama, and they were married in April of 1960. While in the US Navy, John had five daughters. His wife and daughters followed him to wherever he was assigned, various naval stations on the east coast of the United States, Guam, and finally retiring in 1976 at US Naval Air Station in Lemoore.
John always enjoyed learning and eventually obtained an Associate Degree in Industrial Science. John started his own welding business, which he had for several years. John also began a second career, employed with the State Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer. John retired in 1994. John enjoyed taking photography and many outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, fishing, and taking his family to the local mountains to enjoy the snow, various road and day trips. John was social, visited with friends and was involved with the Knights of Columbus.
John is survived by Blanca Partridge, his wife; his daughters, Mary Jane Collins, Blanca Kumbera and husband, Greg; Aura Partridge; Tina Martinez; Diana Partridge; and grandchildren, Mariah Lehn and Ray John Martinez. His family was everything to him and he kept us laughing with his stories of childhood and current events up until his last moments.
Memorial Mass Services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hanford, California.
