John "Jay" W. Collins

John W. Collins (J.W., Jay) - 79 years of Goshen, CA; Born J. W. Collins on January 22, 1931 in Scott, OK and passed March 20, 2010 in Tulare, CA. Jay Collins as he was known by friends and family served in the U.S. Navy where he named himself John Wayne Collins; later he owned and operated Imperial Carpet Service with the help of his wife Wanda Jean Collins, retiring in 1993.

He is survived by children Donna Akins (John Carlson) of Topeka, KS, Jim Collins of Paso Robles, CA and Johnny Collins of Goshen, CA; grandchildren, Allison Smart, Aaron Akin, Brett and Brandon Collins, and great-grandchildren, Casey and Savannah Smart, Amiah and Lilyana Collins; Sisters, Irene Cox and Claudine Hopper, and brother, Leon Colllins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Collins, daughter, Debra Ann Collins, brothers, Cecil and Roy Collins, and a sister, Wanda Evans. Beloved brother, father and Boompa; he will be missed by all.

Chapel Services are being held on Monday, March 29, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel. Visitation is at Miller Memorial on Sunday 3-7 p.m. Interment at Visalia District Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.millerchapel.com.
