John Roel Jacobi, a loving husband, father, and Pake, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning on July 12th, 2015 surrounded by his family during his last moments, and is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.
John was born in the town of Easterein (Dutch: Oosterend) in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands on May 21, 1937. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 with 19 dollars in his pocket. He worked as a milker and feeder in Artesia CA for a number of years, until he met and married his wife Corrie Mensonides, at which time, he started his own Dairy and family in Modesto, California. Later, he moved his family and Dairying operation to Dinuba California.
Many was the time where John enjoyed going up to the lake with the family in the pickup pulling the boat behind where he would patiently teach others to water ski. He liked fishing, working on his Dairy, and enjoyed having visitors. He would often invite people into the house, sit by the kitchen table, and enjoy a cup of coffee and cake, or better yet, a slokje at happy hour with some good conversation.
John was the second to the youngest of eight siblings, and is survived by his wife Corrie of 54 years; his three sisters: Gooi (Sjoerd) Vant Zet, Afke (Niek) Van Shaick, and Janke (Wiebren) Engelsma; his four children: Marianne Jacobi, Sid (Sharon) Jacobi, John J. (Rachel) Jacobi. and Monique Jacobi; his 12 grand-children: Jennifer (Logan) Smith, Jessica Jacobi, John S. Jacobi, Blake Jacobi, Dakota (Willard) Mendivil, Morgan Jacobi, Corrie Ana Jacobi, Erica Jacobi, Logan Jacobi, Anneke Jacobi, Austin Nyenhuis, and Noah Nyenhuis; and one great-grand-daughter: Harper Mendivil. John was preceded in death by brothers Andy (Janke), Jap (Jeltse), Bat (Anne), and Jelke (Dukke) Jacobi
