Garrett was born January 24, 1997 in Visalia, CA. He attended Willow Glen Elementary School, Green Acres Middle School, and Redwood High School, where he was a part of this year’s senior class of 2015.
Garrett was an active member of Future Farmers of America. At the time of his passing he was on his way to participate in an FFA volunteer clean-up day for the upcoming Tulare County Fair. He was an athlete, playing Ranger football and baseball, as well as several other sports through his short 17 years. He was well-loved by all who knew him. Garrett made an impact on so many and created the best circle of friends that anyone could ever have imagined. His infectious laughter, sweet disposition, and overall contribution to his community will be greatly missed. His classmates made a very touching tribute at the Redwood campus to him wearing blue in honor of #GB12. The tribute spread quickly to include all Visalia and Tulare high schools. The sea of blue for Garrett was a tribute like no other, to remember the laugh, the beard, and his positive, protective influence that was Garrett Bragg. He loved motorcycles and spending time riding in the dessert with his family. He was very proud of his last ride with his dad as they went on over a one-hundred-mile ride through the Mojave Desert. Garrett and his mom had a special bond, roughing around like brothers at times, but at the same time compassionate and very close. They liked most of the same things and would take off in the motorhome at times, just the two of them, when no one else wanted to go.
Garrett is survived by his parents, Greg and Lori Bragg, sisters, Kaitee and Jaymee Bragg, future brother-in law, Nick Chivello, grandparents, JM and Peggy Bragg, Edward and Susan Hedrick, Aunts and Uncles, Mike and Kathy Bragg, Patti and Randy Fiscus, cousins Randii and Matt Bragg, and numerous other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at the Neighborhood Church in Visalia at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 29th. Graveside service will be at the Visalia Public Cemetery on Saturday, August 30th at 9:00 AM. The Garrett Bragg Memorial Scholarship Fund has been set up at Tucoemas Federal Credit Union.
