Frances G. Rodriguez

Frances was born in San Benito, Texas to Fidencio and Maryhelen Hart Garcia on December 20, 1943, one of thirteen children, born to this union. She was raised and educated in San Benito, Texas. Frances met and married Demetrio T. Rodriguez in 1964 in San Benito, Texas. They have celebrated fifty five years of marriage. Demetrio and Frances came to Farmersville, California in the late sixties to make their home and raised their family.

Frances worked for twenty five years at Sunkist Packing Company in Woodlake. She last worked as a Day Care Provider for six years.

Frances loved to go dancing on Sunday nights with Demetrio at El Presidente for many, many years. She enjoyed cleaning and cooking…Frances would feed anyone and everyone who came to her home. They never went away hungry. She was a very caring and giving person and communicated with her family on a daily basis, always giving advice and instructions. Frances enjoyed every minute spent with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was the gatekeeper of the family, all depended on her. Frances was tiny in stature but she had lots of spunk and you could count on her to be totally honest with you.

Frances was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Demetrio; three children – Melinda Contreras, Demetrio Rodriguez, Jr. and Celina Rodriguez; two brothers – Juan Rodriguez and Jesse Rodriguez; four sisters – Janie Romo, Edna Moreno, Maryhelen Garcia and Ramona Garza; eight granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fidencio and Maryhelen and six siblings.
