Estanislada was born in Shafter, Texas on May 7, 1929 to Catarino and Manuela Pena. Her family moved to New Mexico when she was a small child. Raised by good parents, she was one of six children born to this union. In 1967 she moved her family to Tulare, California. But as migrant workers, they moved throughout the state of California. In 1977 Estanislada settled in Visalia where she lived for 38 years. Manuela Pena (Estanislada’s mother) lived with the family for 40 years and helped raise the children. She loved cooking, her pet dog, Tootsie and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Catarino and Manuela; one sister, four brothers, her daughter, Amanda Lucio in 1996 and her granddaughter, Natasha Arano in 2013.
Estanislada will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Eduardo Arano of Bakersfield, Raul Arano of Visalia, Maria Guerrero of Tulare, Marina Arano Martinez of Hollister, Clotilde Arano of Visalia, Sylvia Torres of Visalia, Armida Pena Delgado of San Jose and Javier Herrera of Visalia; one brother, Gilbert Pena of Texas; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4 – 6 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia.
