He was a 1959 graduate of Delano High School and from there David went to Porterville College before enlisting in the US Navy. After his tour of service he returned to California where he met his wife Linda and together with their daughter Kimberly made their home in Whittier, California where he later earned his Master’s Degree from Cal State Redlands.
David worked with kids in the LA County Juvenile system before becoming a Parole Officer for the State of California. An avid sports fan, David coached kids’ flag football for many years and caught as many games as he could. His family fantasy football league will miss his encyclopedic knowledge of stats and picks and will be hard pressed to go on in his absence.
After retiring, David continued to be active in the PFSA and turned his focus to traveling and spending time with family, including his three grandchildren who he adored.
His kindness and compassion have touched many hearts and lives and he will be missed by all of them.
David is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Kimberly and her husband Ray and their three children Dane, Kieran and Morrigan, many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relations including his two furry children Tiny Tim and Shepard. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Graveside Service will be held at Visalia Public Cemetery 1300 W. Goshen Ave., on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 9:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia.
