Carol Sue de Jong

She was born on March 23, 1960 in Long Beach, CA to Henry and Johanna Van Dyk. She was little sister to Henry Van Dyk Jr., Gary Van Dyk, and Anna Marie Bakker. On July 25, 1980 Carol married Arie de Jong. They were blessed with five children. For a large part of their marriage Carol and Arie and family lived in San Diego County. For the past ten years Carol has resided on a 37 acre farm in Visalia, where she took large part in the landscaping and care. Carol enjoyed gardening, baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.Carol also took the role as book keeper for whatever business Arie decided to take on (Car restoration, hoof trimming, dairy, walnut and olive farming). She was an extremely hard working woman, and loved her family without ceasing. She also volunteered as a meals on wheels delivery driver and was on the Board of Used treasures. Carol was a faithful Christian and enjoyed spending time with God and his word.

Carol is survived by her husband Arie de Jong, daughter and son-in-law, Joni and Josh Verburg, son and daughter –in-law, Peter and Whitney de Jong, son, Jason de Jong, and daughter Ariel de Jong. Carol is also survived by her three granddaughters Adri, Kara, and Kylie Verburg and was expecting her fourth grandchild from Peter and Whitney de Jong due in March. She is also survived by her mother Johanna Van Dyk and two brothers Henry and Gary Van Dyk.

Carol was preceded in death by her oldest son Peter Jason de Jong, her sister Anna Marie Baker, and her father Henry Van Dyk.

The family suggests memorial donations be sent to Tulare/ Kings County Right to Life in lieu of flowers.
