Antonia was born on June 25,1923 in Hacienda Santa Maria in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Juan Galindo Chavira and Cecilia Cuevas Muñoz. She married Salvador Lozano Garza in 1948 and was married for over 49 years until Salvador departed this life. Her son, Eugene Lozano, preceded her in death in 2020.
Antonia began her work life as a seamstress and continued stitching her designs and quilts into her final year of life. She first moved to Visalia in 1956 where she and Salvador worked as farmworkers and where she gave birth to most of her children. She was an accomplished cook who greeted visitors with delicious meals and taught her hospitality and cooking skills by example and request. Antonia had a quiet yet incredible strength. She had a cheerful humility and welcoming laugh that brightened our hearts, was a kidder, a conversationalist, a storyteller, and always listened and cared for others. She gave unending motherly love, warmth, and blessings to everyone in her family whenever she saw them.
While the heart, soul, and inspiration of our family has left us, Antonia’s legacy lives on in Blanca Lozano Gonzalez (Visalia, CA), Noé Pablo Lozano (Sunnyvale, CA), Elida Lozano Zarate (Visalia, CA), Joe Lozano (Marion, NC), Ercilia (Sheila) Lozano Rodriguez (Santa Cruz, CA), Salvador Lozano, (Hanford, CA), JuanAntonio Lozano (Reston, VA), Mona Lozano Andrews (Bonifay, FL), Nina Lozano Sinatra (Sanford, NC), 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
We invite you to say your last goodbyes to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and dear friend. She will be forever honored, missed and remembered.
