Alvaro H. Serrano went with the Lord on August 21, 2010 at the age of 81. He was born on November 13, 1928 to Ascencion and Luciana Serrano in Sierra Blanca, Texas, being the 4th of 12 children. Alvaro served his country in the Korean War. He worked for many years and retired from the Visalia School District as a Custodian, earning the nickname “Mighty.”
He is survived by his brothers Ysmael Serrano of Goshen, Johnny Serrano of Stockton and sisters Sara Ruiz of Tulare, Sally Thomas, Cecelia Miranda, Lucy Galindo all of Hanford and Jenny Baca of Manteca as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alvaro was preceded in death by his parent’s Ascencion & Luciana, brothers Salvador, Sammy, Tommy, and little sister Laurencia “Chata” Serrano.
Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 2pm until 6pm.
Rosary will be prayed at Miller’s Memorial Chapel at 6:00pm on Monday, August 30, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 10:00am.
