Christy and family,

I was very sad to learn of Earl's passing and am sorry for your loss.  Earl and I were childhood friends in Elizabeth Park.  We played little league baseball and football together and were in the same class at Poplar Halls Elementary School.  Though we hadn't seen each other for many years, I was fortunate to speak with him on the phone last August.  Earl was always fun to be around and I will always have fond memories of him.

I was completely shocked to hear of Earl's passing.  My heart goes out to the family.. He was a wonderful friend through the years and I only have wonderful memories. My deepest sorrow for all of you an awesome person has left the world..God needed him more. Sincerely Lynn

Earl, Kevin Newton, "E" Goodwyn and I shared a rental house in 1981.  I didn't know him until then, but in that year I found a good friend.  It was a great year, we were all recently out of college and trying to figure it all out.  We had a lot of good times and Earl was always there for you if you needed anything.  My sympathies to his wife and children, family and friends.  He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of my old college friend.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Earl's family and friends.  We had some great, fun-filled times at Longwood.  He was truley a special person. And I know he will be deeply missed. 
One night, I had the opportunity to be the PA announcer for an Alumni Basketball game that Earl was playing in.  Little did I know that my introduction to the fans of him that night would resonate throughout his entire life. It went like this:
".....Often imitated, but never duplicated, the incredible Earl Witcher!"    
It ssems to me, that Earl was truely Incredible.

I am extremely sorry to hear about your loss.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Earl's family and friends. I was a college friend of Earl's at Longwood  college and fellow athlete.  We enjoyed alot of great laughs and fun together.
I had the opportunity to be guest announcer at Longwood for a Basketball Alumni game Earl was playing in. And my introduction of him that night before the game, I felt,  was very apropo.  And I see that it followed him throughout his life:

My heart is breaking for you. Earl was a precious and wonderful man and will be sorely missed. I loved Earl from the moment I met him. He was a great help to me during my time with ABC. Sharing all of those Christmas and Beach Parties with both of you was a real pleasure. It's hard to believe that I'll never be able to sing "My Earl" to him again or watch the two of you dance together. He was so proud of you and the kids - always bragging. Dear Christie, Katie, Billy, Bette Cindy, Vickie, Ernie and the rest of the Witcher clan,

Tammy, Sammy and I have huge holes in our hearts.  We loved Earl so much and we know he loved us...but what he loved most was his family.   He was always telling us how proud he was of you guys and what great care you took of him.  
I can tell you that no one has ever made me laugh like Earl did.  His sense of humor and "loveability" drew people to him, and I was always so honored to be considered one of his best friends.  Their was only one "Earl", but happily we will have all the great memories, stories, pictures and videos so that he will keep us laughing and feeling loved forever. 
We can wait to come up and there and give you hugs.  You will be in our hearts forever.
