VIRGINIA BEACH William C. “Chip” Hayes, Jr., 69, passed away on July 1, 2011.
Chip was the son of the late William C. Hayes, Sr. and Elizabeth McKoon Hayes and was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Hayes on May 2, 2011.
Chip was an Eagle Scout and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Honeywell as a computer salesman after thirty years of service.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia D. Hayes, Pamela E. Hayes, a son, William C. Hayes, III and his wife, Nikole; seven grandchildren, Brittany Hayes, Brianna White, Mason, Gregory, Scotty, Makayla and Maddison Hayes; a sister, Nancy Hayes Wilkerson and husband, Roger W. Wilkerson, III and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Barber Naramore.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel where a celebration of Mr. Hayes life will be held on Friday, 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
