William “Bill” Green Duggan, Jr., 76 went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 27, 2011 at his home. Born in Norfolk on July 5, 1934 to the late William and Clara Duggan; he was a 1951 graduate of Maury High School and owner of Star Printing Company, Inc., in Norfolk, now operated by his sons. Bill served in the 29th Infantry Division of the Virginia Army National Guard from 1957 to 1965. He was a faithful member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and served as a deacon. Bill loved music and sang in the church choirs since early childhood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lillian Leonhardt Duggan; three sons, Douglas A. Duggan (wife Karen) of Virginia Beach, David A. Duggan (wife Terri) of Chesapeake, and Darrell A. Duggan (wife Heather) of Virginia Beach; two daughters; Dolores D. Bailey (husband Micky) of Kennesaw, GA, Dianne D. Rose of Richmond, VA; 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; and two sisters, Dorothy Kirby (husband Pat) of Bedford, VA and Phyllis Duggan of Norfolk.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 31 from 6 – 8 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 11 AM at Thaila Lynn Baptist Church, 4392 Virginia Beach Boulevard, by Dr. Prentis B. McGoldrick, Jr. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
