She was born on July 25,1965, to Winston Wallace and Jeanette Ferrell Rose. She was a life-long resident of Virginia Beach and lived most of her life near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in her beloved home in Cape Story by the Sea.
A graduate of Bayside High School and Radford University School of Nursing, Wendy recently retired from Virginia Beach City Public Schools after 30 years of service as a school nurse and special education assistant. Wendy adored children, and while she never had any of her own, she doted on her five nieces and nephews. Weekend sleepovers and countless beach days are memories they hold dear. She was instrumental in molding them into the fine young adults they are today.
Wendy was an active member of Bayside Baptist Church. She gave freely of herself to her family and others. She was a volunteer with the Virginia Beach Medical Reserve Corps and recently became a hospice volunteer with Westminster-Canterbury.
Wendy was an adored daughter, sister, aunt and treasured friend. She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her three sisters and their families, Tracy Estep (Sam), Amy Vest (Walter), Bonny Rose, Winston and Spencer Estep, Taylor Vest, Ellie Vest (Greyson Derrick), and Sydney Vest.
